About Us
As a family run Jewellery business, Douglas Jewellers understands the value of customer service and we strive constantly to ensure the highest of standards. While we are best known for our wonderful wedding and engagement rings, we also carry a vast range of other jewellery and gifts, many from world-famous brands.
Douglas Jewellers Carlow
Douglas Jewellers are famed for their collection of handcrafted diamond engagement rings. Our clientele is drawn, not just from Co. Carlow, but from many other parts of Ireland. Established in 1880, our shop is located on Lower Tullow Street in Carlow town.
We stock an extensive range of products, many of which are available exclusively (in Carlow) to our store, including Nomination, ChloBo, Daniel Wellington, Rosefield, Ti Sento, Tommy Hilfiger, Seiko, Raymond Weil, Hugo Boss – just to name just a few.
We supply jewellery, gifts and watches of the highest quality, with a reputation for integrity & customer service. Run by Ken Tucker since 1951 and ably managed by Ivan Tucker since 1990, our friendly staff cater for all your jewellery & gift requirements.
The Shop
In 1989, the shop got a big boost with the return of Ken’s son Ivan, who now runs the day to day operation of the business, and also received his diploma as a polished diamond grader form the international gemological institute Antwerp in March 2006, a valuable experience when explaining all about diamonds to our many engaged couples.
Our Services
Our on site services include our ever reliable watchmaker, Tom Brennan. Behind the scenes Tom keeps a vast majority of the watches in Carlow town ticking. Diamond grader/valuer, Ivan Tucker, is available to answer any of your diamond enquiries. Quotations or estimates on jobs are available at no charge. We also have two engravers, Ken Tucker & Mairead Moore. In sum we have a large watch and jewellery repair department which enables us to complete the work on-site, hence keeping our prices quite competitive. On site services include rhodium plating of all your white gold engagement & dress rings, with a two-day turn around. With an in-house watchmaker for all your watch repair enquiries and a private fitting room for our potential engaged couples, we hope all our customers have a pleasant experience when visiting our store on Tullow Street Carlow.
